Puppets and More

The Shed is always looking for new and novel ideas to keep the interest of the membership. So, when an idea was put forward for puppet making, it was taken up by a number of enthusiastic parties.

Alison Clark from Rothesay was brought in to teach the six sessions in puppet making, together with a bit of storytelling during the first session. She is adept at this, and it held the interest of the group.

Alison’s background spans, acting, being licensee of a pub, and also writing. Her main focus being myths and legends. One of her puppets, the Bodach (old man in Gaelic) is a bit scarier than what we imagined, but it does tie together some of her previous interests.

Steady support for the group was given by Liz Chandler, Shed member, who has considerable experience in management, having run a retirement housing home for many years. She has also been involved in events management.
